When I was a little girl, my dream was to be a wife & mom.  I looked forward to the idea of creating a loving environment for my family, however, at the age of 26, life took an unexpected turn, and I found myself a divorced single mom to a 15-month-old son.

In the midst of  loss, I began to form a new perspective as I realized that my son and I were still a family, and the dream of creating a loving home, although not exactly in the way I originally envisioned as a young girl,  was still possible. 

In the meantime, I also began building a business, which I co-founded and still serve at in an executive role, and worked long hours to provide for my son & build a new life for us. 

Friday night pizza nights emerged as a cherished ritual, featuring homemade pizza dough and the joyful participation of little hands, signaling the start of each weekend.







Home and family, whether just the two of us or with extended family and friends, were cultivated through intentional practices—dinners around a hand-me-down antique dining room table, meaningful conversations, homemade lattes, Nerf wars with cousins, and perfecting what we consider to be the perfect chocolate chip cookie. 

Despite the simplicity of our home, the daily practices created an environment that makes our little cottage a soft place to land.   The simple rituals of home built us a little haven from the world.
